What Fuels You?

I am busy… but I am happy.

That really sums up my life recently. I never thought in a million years when I finally got off my ass and made a “business” website and ordered business cards — business would just start to happen!

That combined with my writing… busy is my new normal.

Every day is surrounded by a schedule of not only things I must get done, but it is also caring for three kids. Two of which are in school/daycare part time. But home from school for the summer.

Monday-Wednesday-Friday mornings are most productive because I am virtually alone minus a sleeping baby. Although the summer has turned the house into complete chaos.

With all I do people often ask me how exactly I do it?

Most of the time I don’t really have an answer… I just do it. I have no choice, especially when it comes to being mom! But I do have quite a few things that fuel me on a day-to-day basis.

First comes the coffee… although Starbucks for me is a “treat”.  I typically make my own, or head over to the Dunkin’ Donuts up the street from my house with the gift card from Christmas I am still nursing. *I may or may not have refilled it*

But just having the simple cup of coffee makes a world of difference in my house. It has become my vice, but I have been able to ditch my horrible soda habit in the mean time, so I guess one coffee compared to a couple cans of soda a day is better right?

APPLE PRODUCTS! They are absolutely one of my vices. It started with an iPod long ago, I think it was 2006 when I got my first one… Maybe 2005? But it was long enough ago that it seems like eternity.

It wasn’t until I got my iPhone in May of 2011, and then my laptop died in September that I invested in my first Mac computer, and it was all down hill from there. I have been extremely grateful for my tech gadget privileges, but my husband has officially revoked my Apple store credit card.

Without my iPhone I don’t think I would make it through the day, I could never go back to a Blackberry now!  Oh, I couldn’t go back to a PC either. My husband and I argue over that one all the time!

My kids!  Everything about them. Their laughs, their words, the faces they make, the way they make me feel… everything. Including the crappy diapers. The fact that they made me a mother, and are the greatest gift in the entire world. Motherhood truly is a blessing for sure!

I am sure I could come up with dozens of more things that keep me going on a daily basis, but these are probably my tops… Why don’t you share what keeps you going daily?

What exactly fuels you?

One Response to “What Fuels You?”

  1. My work, I love people and I work with people on a daily basis. I love helping them. I drink coffee every morning, however, I drink decaf and usually I make a cup with the Kurig in the office. Sometimes I stop for McDonald’s coffee, I love their coffee. I HATE, DESPISE Starbucks, you couldn’t pay me to drink it. People generally fuel me the most, I love the conversations I have with people and the things they share with me.
