If y’all haven’t noticed in the past couple months, I have ditched the nail salon and started doing my own nails. The up side of this has been my growing nail polish collection. I have also become a geek when it comes to those stupid Pinterest Nail tutorial’s I will never be able to complete by myself.
While most of my collections consists of sale nail polish from Walmart which I have scored for $1.97 a bottle (no seriously guys, its called Ice! Go check it out because it is awesome!) I was turned on to the Essie Winter Collection this year through some ladies on Pinterest. (more…)

Oh, Yes! it is craft time once again in the non-crafty world of Danielle Elwood Dot Com! Haha! And this time, I didn’t lose any fingers, narrowly escaped lighting the house on fire, and of course learned a new word from my mother in the process.
I really thought she was making shit up when she called my project “decoupage”. I guess you learn something new every day. I found this on Pinterest, and just HAD to do it!
Anyway! I headed out to the local comic book store and picked up a couple comics in my kids favorite super hero characters, and of course grabbed a couple I knew as a kid. Then the crafting began. (more…)

I don’t do Pinterest posts every week, but I came across some really awesome pins and projects this week while working on some blog posts and I really wanted to share and of course write a wrap up.
We have been doing a lot of little projects around out house. Painting, organizing, and everything that Pinterest is downright amazing for.
First I wanted to start with a couple craft projects. (more…)

Some days I get trapped on Pinterest. I think we all have these moments because lets be serious here, it is an addicting site.
So much productivity is lost in the clutches of its DIY projects and recipes!
After months of Pinterest free days I dove back in while the boys were playing, Addison was napping and frankly I just wanted to waste time doing something mindless I was drawn back. (more…)

A couple weeks after I said I was going to do it… I am finally holding true and starting my Meal Plan Monday series here on my site. I put a lot of thought and effort into it over the past couple weeks, carefully planning different new recipes while wasting ours on Pinterest in the name of research.
I have to admit without doing the whole meal plan thing on my site, I totally lost my inspiration. Not having a blog post to go back for recipes and inspiration totally put my meal plan right in the shitter. So I am really hoping that getting this going weekly will help me to stay on top of it.
This week I am planning five different recipes. As we all know its a huge accomplishment if I complete three of them, but I hope to help inspire you guys to have some new dishes on your own dinner table! (more…)

We all know I am not the best in the kitchen, although I have really been giving it a try lately.
I have gotten kind of burnt out with work and with some changes coming in the next couple weeks I found more time to really dedicate to home life which is awesome. Don’t get me wrong, I still am not a huge fan of cooking but I think I discovered why I hate it so much.
Because the food I cook never comes out as good as something someone else is making for me. Does that make any sense? (more…)

It is nothing new to most of my readers that cooking is not my strong point. Which I am pretty confused about still since my mother is a phenomenal cook.
Over the weekend I took on a bunch of different recipes and dishes, mainly for Super Bowl Sunday — but of course this is me trying to get back into the saddle of cooking way more than I have been.
I started with a homemade flour tortilla recipe my husband had found online, and if we actually were able to get them flattened out more than we could… they would have been fantastic… (more…)

We all know Pinterest is like… the thing these days, but even before its new found popularity in the New Year, I was scouting it for craft ideas, and other amazing, and often simple DIY (do it yourself) ideas.
I am the first to admit I am not the most crafty person out there, and trying to even think of something like this, let alone accomplish it is a huge deal. But it seems like the more projects I take on — the better I am getting at it.
I have always admired these fancy wreathes on Pinterest. Homemade, often from felt, or just yarn — they are extremely pretty. Something that would look great hanging on my front door for the holiday. Whether it was Christmas, or Valentines day. (more…)

Social media tools… there are so many different websites out there now that can help you network, and build genuine relationships that it is overwhelming for some.
Where do you even start?
Do you Facebook or twitter?
Do you network on LinkedIn or not? (more…)
