Some children don’t like Santa. Which is totally understandable, because if we are being serious… he is a pretty scary guy.
We have all grown up to know and love him, and by the time you are my older boys ages (3&5) he is an OK guy. Especially because he brings cool presents.
But this year, Addison had a full blown, five alarm, Santa Claus melt down. And it all started when we went to have our family Christmas photo with Santa done. But it hasn’t gotten any better since then. (more…)

Its the MOST wonderful timmmmmeeeeeee of the year!
Who doesn’t love the holiday season? As the days count down towards Christmas, I find out home full of love, cheer, and the spirit of the season.
This year for our family, baby dolls are a big hit. Between our sons and this Christmas will mark the first real doll for our daughter. (Thanks Grandma!)
Last year around this time, I was fortunate enough to review the Joovy Room2 for Addison, which we still use and love. But back then, I had no idea that Joovy also made a wide variety of kids toys. Considering tons of companies that produce baby gear don’t make toys… I never even thought about it. (more…)

When it comes to Christmas, I have had so many mixed feelings over the years. Actually last year my faith was so non-existent because of the loss of my sister, I kind of went off on taking the Christ out of Christmas.
This year I am feeling better, much better. My faith is strong, and of course growing every day as is my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I started thinking of ways to teach my children about where Christmas really came from. That mixed with the questions about God and Jesus kind of made this the perfect Christmas for me to get the ball rolling in our house. (more…)

New trend in the parenting community?
Elf on the Shelf haters. No, I am totally serious with you. People online that are actually putting down parents for using Elf on the Shelf as part of their Christmas tradition. Some bullshit about being able to parent their children so they don’t have to threaten their kids with an Elf or Santa.
To them all I have to say is get off your damn high horse and have a little fun. DAMN!
There is no need to take everything in life so seriously. Jesus!
The fact that people are even taking this little damn doll and book seriously enough to question another parents parenting skills because they choose to have a watchful Christmas eye in the house is something that just brings the whole mom wars to a whole new, and extremely pathetic level. (more…)

If you are anything like me, you absolutely love getting into the Christmas spirit!
Christmas songs, movies, decorating, and of course the shopping. I am probably one of the only people on Earth who is not extremely stressed out about the shopping. But that is another post in itself!
One of my favorite events of Christmas is the ABC Family Channel’s 25 Days of Christmas. 25 days chock full of the best Christmas movies. New, classics, and everything in between. (more…)

Christmas certainly brings the worst out in people apparently. I was shocked and in horror yesterday when I opened up a post on BuzzFeed and sat down to read a bunch of tweets from ungrateful little shits who did nothing but whine about what they didn’t get for Christmas.
Can I cry because the one thing I wanted for Christmas I didn’t get? The only thing I asked for this year was my sister back, but obviously that can’t happen, and I have to tell you I was beyond disgusted to see these little bastards bitching about how they didn’t get an iPhone, or an iPad… or even better… DIDN’T GET A CAR! I survived Christmas… by the skin of my teeth and with a horrible cold which has made my head feel like it is on the verge of exploding.
But I survived, the kids are happy, and this was really the first year our 2 year old understood what was going on, so having two out of three kids know how truly magical everything was… well it was just priceless.
But now I am starting to realize why big events such as Christmas are only once a year. Because honestly, if they were more often, we would not be celebrating.

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!
Christmas is a couple days away, and I am in the middle of a full blown, five alarm, Christmas emergency – and it involves my serious lack of preparedness for the holiday. My procrastination is kicking me square in the ass, and I am turning into a hot mom mess.
I know… I know! I am not the only mom out there who is currently freaking the fuck out because they are not ready.

Camden started pre-school this year. He loves everything about it! His friends, eating lunch at school with all the other kids, being a big boy, art projects… oh yeah… and his teacher Miss J. I am clearly masking her identity for privacy.
From the moment I met Miss J, she was the most calm, kind, and easy going teacher ever. And you could see how much all of the kids truly adore and love her.
We are almost half way through the school year, and I have to confess… I absolutely love his teacher. We could not have asked for a better pre-school teacher to prepare him for kindergarten next year. (more…)

Every where I turn this year, I keep seeing the advertisements about keeping Christ in Christmas. And that is all fine and dandy for those who do the whole religion thing, and actually believe in the story of Christ and the Virgin Mary, and everything that goes along with it. But that isn’t the Christmas I celebrate.
The Christmas I celebrate is about decorated trees, Santa Claus, cookies, and presents. Nothing more, and nothing less. Well maybe a couple Christmas story books, and traditions from childhood as well.

This weekend we went into full blown Christmas mode in our house. Since last weekend, even before Thanksgiving our three year old has been repeatedly requesting our Christmas tree go up. Which is fine by me, but my husband is that guy who refuses to get into the spirit till after the turkey has been carved.
Totally fine with me, not so much with the kid though.
After an almost week long battle, we started prepping the house and outside of the house for our decor yesterday.
