Back From BlogHer 2012

I’m Back!

Safe and sound in the safety of my lovely Connecticut home, but not before being stranded on a Metro North train during a down pour. Getting home was much more difficult than getting there!

I had an awesome time this year. It was much easier to take on the conference as a whole, and I was far more confident than the first time I went in 2010. It did help that I had a ton of friends there.

I have a lot of reflection and thoughts to put into the post, so please hang tight with me, I promise it will all be worth reading. (more…)

BlogHer Bound

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

If you are part of the inter-webz or actively participate in a world called Twitter, you know that an ass-ton of women (and a hand full of men) are heading to a blog conference called BlogHer in New York City this week. Something I always look forward to, and will be participating in once again this year.

My original plan was to head in for a long ass day kicking off at 5am, and ending some twenty hours later. Until a friend of mine was in need of some help.

Thankfully I am kind of a packing genius and when I sat down with my check list and suitcase I didn’t forget a thing I set out to remember. Some of the things were easy to remember, like business cards and cloths, others were ideas next to no body even thought of.

That is where my post today comes into play. If you are going to BlogHer for the first time, and sharing a room with bloggers you know or are even just meeting for the first time -  you want to be prepared! (more…)

Tips for BlogHer Newbies!

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

I am going to BlogHer this year. I can’t pass it up since it is in New York City. The last time I attended the conference, it was amazing. There is just so much a blogger can learn. Plus who doesn’t want to meet all the bloggers you have made connections with over the years?

Well and meet new bloggers. At BlogHer 2010 when I became the Wine Fairy I also met several awesome bloggers I talk to almost daily still. It is like a sisterhood. A great sisterhood. And once a year we all get together to learn and party.

With an emphasis on party. It is always a good time.

Now when I went to BlogHer 2010 it was like baptism by fire. I had no idea what I was getting into. I hopped onto the train with my Dad, did a day in the city with him and my friend Julie and then I was on my own. (more…)
