It is that time of year again! Time to celebrate my annual accomplishment of how long I have been blogging. Yup!

This year I actually made it to the five year mark. I remember my first blog post like it was yesterday. Complaining about my own Grandmother asking me to nurse my oldest son Camden in a bedroom of a strangers house at my oldest sister’s baby shower. It is hard to believe how much has happened since then.

Appletini is here!

The new AppleCheeks Cloth Diaper is here, and I am in love!  I have a fondness for bright colored diapers, and I told Ilana from Applecheeks a while back about my desire for a bright green colored diaper… and now it is here!

I have always had a special place in my cloth diapering heart since AppleCheeks sponsored my switch from disposable diapers, to cloth diapers in the summer of 2010. They are like family to me… and while I have never met Katie (Miss Katies Pickles) I feel like they are all family to me. I was also over the moon to meet Ilana in October of 2010 in New York City! If there is one thing as a mother I love, it is baby wearing. It wasn’t until my oldest child was almost five months old that I actually discovered and got into it.

I had a couple failed attempts with carriers I found to be confusing and then finally settled for a Mei Tei style carrier, which eventually lead me to one of my favorites, an ERGO.

Recently on twitter I became a follower of Onya Baby after their followed me, and we chatted a couple times. I turns out they make some awesome looking carriers and wanted to give one away to my readers during the blog-a-versary! (more…)

Have you tried out the brand new FuzziBunz Elite diapers?

I not only got one to review a couple months ago when they first came out, but I actually stocked up my diaper stash when I found them on Zulily around Christmas time. The price was just too good to pass up, and plus I had Zulily credit!  Double score!

I was completely sold on the perfect size, and one size FuzziBunz before this, but when the Elite one size came out I became a full believer. Of course I have an awesome stash of all different kinds too. (more…)

I met Emily from BabyDickey.com when I first started becoming really active on twitter for my blog. It was also around the time that she was due with her first child, and I remember in the days following Christmas that year she delivered her son. It is hard to believe it was two years ago already!  Happy Birthday Ryan!

Here we are two years later, and she is pregnant with her second little one, and planning a HBAC (Home Birth after a Cesarean) , something which makes me incredibly excited for her, because of my deep desire for a VBAC with my second, and third child. I will be cheering her on every step of the way! (more…)

Picture this…

It is the wee hours of the morning, and your sweet baby who was sleeping like… well, a baby is wide awake and screaming. So you drag yourself out of bed, and across the dark hallway dodging matchbox cars, fire trucks, and whatever else the kids snuck out of the toy box when they were supposed to be sleeping. And you make it there thankfully unharmed to get your small fry back to sleep.

Once you again have a sleeping baby, you turn to back out of the room tiptoeing because you are scared to death of waking them up again, and it happens… You step on the most obnoxious baby toy in the entire house, and it starts singing. (more…)

When our middle son had to start in home therapy for developmental delays we went out and bought the Safety 1st foam floor mats because I wanted to be able to work with him on crawling, pulling himself up, and learning to walk without the serious fear of a head injury. I think that is one of my biggest fears with my kids since we have all hard wood floors in our house. I would secretly LOVE some carpeting! (more…)

I am a fan of HappyFamily baby food products. I learned about them when our middle son was venturing into solids, and we fell in love  with their Puffs. My kids are kind of puff junkies, and I figured if they wanted to live on these little treats which are like eating cardboard for adults, I might as well go the organic route right?

We have been in love with their products ever since!

I have had the chance to work with HappyFamily on Baby’s First Year a couple times, and will again this month, and couldn’t be more happy to work with a company that not only has great ethics, but products that are great and healthy for kids. (more…)
