The Quickest Two Years of My Life

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

addie2Two years.

Where has time gone?

Two years ago, at this time… I was laying in my hospital bed, recovering from my third c-section and snuggling my perfect newborn baby girl. The little girl I never thought would be a part of our family. If I said bringing her into the world was easy it would be a lie.

It was rough, bumpy, and scary. Not the delivery itself, but the months leading up to her delivery. Amnio’s and all kinds of testing. A baby that wasn’t growing. Kind of a mom’s worst nightmare. When she came out healthy, it was the biggest relief of our lives.

Now, she is two. I seriously just cannot believe it. (more…)

Addison’s First Spa Day

Saturday, March 30th, 2013

nails1Where do I even start?

Well, having a daughter is a lot different than two sons. Not in a bad way, or a good way. It is just different. We do different things together, we have different interests together. It is just… different. I had been talking to my mom about bringing Addison for a manicure or a pedicure for a while. I mean, I love them and have as long as I can remember. So why not start her out at a young age?

It wasn’t until recently I found the Sundae Spa in Waterbury, CT. It looked like the perfect place for Addison’s first manicure trip. And what better day, than the day before Easter. (more…)

The Amazing Care at Yale Children’s Hospital

Sunday, March 17th, 2013

addiehospitalMotherhood has to be one of thee scariest things on Earth. One minutes your children can be perfectly fine, and the next… you are sitting in a pediatric emergency room with the possibility of a foreign body in your child’s lungs.

The whole saga started Friday night in the car when the boys shared a piece of candy with their sister. A chewy spree. Something she wouldn’t have an issue chewing but shouldn’t have had. (Just a side note, that there is a full on candy ban in effect in the house right now, in the wake of this saga.)

Well Addison started to gag on it, but got the candy free on her own. Scary as hell. Following that, she started to throw up, and throw up, and then throw up some more. Then she was perfectly fine. No problems at all. (more…)

Wordless Wednesday: Chicken Pox Won’t Keep Her Down

Last Thursday Addison was diagnosed with a mild case of the Chicken Pox. We had no idea what the rash was at first, and four days of it not getting any better we made a trip to the doctor. (more…)

Addie Dances Like a Champ

Thursday, August 9th, 2012

If there is one thing my kids love to do… It is dance.

Now that Addison is walking, her dancing has gotten far more advanced than just sitting on her butt and bouncing around to a beat. And it has gotten absolutely adorable!

Last night after we finished eating dinner on our back deck, we were relaxing and having a dance party with the kids. While Addie was trying to walk away with the speakers for the iPad, she started dancing hysterically, and I knew I had to get it on video immediately. (more…)

A Short 8 Months

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

December 30th brought Addison’s eight month mark with our family. It is so hard to believe in only four months she will actually be an entire year old.

Where has all this time gone?

It seems like yesterday she was this tiny little 5 pounds bundle of fragile, and now she wants to play with her brothers, throw toys and chew on every last thing in our house. including my boobs. I wish I was joking!

Take a stroll over to Baby’s First Year to see how big Addison has gotten!!

Addie’s Cranio-Facial Plastic Surgeon Appointment

Monday, December 12th, 2011

This morning Addison went for her appointment with a cranio-facial plastic surgeon affiliated with the Yale Children’s Hospital.

First things first… I could not rave about Yale as a whole enough. They took care of my high risk needs when I was pregnant with Addison, and always had amazingly fantastic experiences there. This time was no different.

The office we went to was clean, catered to kids obviously, but of all ages… toys for Addie’s age group and up. And I did not have to wait long at all. We had a 10am appointment and were there by 9:45 and I didn’t even have time to fill out all the paperwork before they called us in.
