Kicking off Kindergarten with Leap Frog {Giveaway!}

My oldest son started Kindergarten this week. He is one of the younger children in his class seeing as he won’t be five years old until December. We were on the fence about sending him to realschool this year, but after talking with his pre-school teacher from last year we decided we would register him, and prepare him in any way we can.

Our preparations of course went very well and two full days into school we have no complaints, as of yet at least.

I believe part of this is due to the preparation we started last month using the Tag Reading System, and the Get Ready for Kindergarten book.

Twice a day I would sit down with Camden and have him pick a page he wanted to try out in the book, and I would essentially just watch him and guide him if he needed it. While being interactive, the Tag Reading System also helps the children gain a sense of educational independence at a young age. Which I like, because I want him to focus on education, and his school work – but also be able to juggle his brother and sister. (Sometimes it can be hard to prioritize all the kids, and who needs what first!)

Although it wasn’t hard to get Camden interested since he is already a book worm. If you ask him after monster trucks, and fire trucks of course… books come in as his third favorite thing to do.

This actually makes me excited for him to start reading in a way!

I know that when most people think about a Tag Reading System, you think of the children being able to highlight the word, and essentially having the book read to them, and of course this is what the system does. But it is also interactive. In the Get Ready for Kindergarten book there are games, quizzes, and interactive Kindergarten readiness activities.

If you take a look at the reviews and feedback right on the website, you will also see all the reviews left include the maximum of 5 stars!  And I would totally have to agree with them. As would Camden!

The best part of the whole post is… you can win one too! Right now!

Not only am I giving away the Tag Reading System, but it also comes with the Get Ready for Kindergarten book!  Whether or not you have a little one going into kindergarten this year, or in the upcoming years, they will love it!

  1. My son doesn’t start kindergarten for 2 years so I’m always looking for fun educational stuff for him.

  2. As a teacher, I know independent learning is extremely important. With the new state standards we are trying to get students to think for themselves and collaborate with other students to achieve student led learning through individual research. In order to achieve these standards for school age students, young children should start independently learning right away. This will develop the confidence needed for future skills.

  3. My son starts kindergarten next September this would be great for him.

  4. I have a daughter in preschool and this looks great for her.

  5. Independent learning allows a child to think for themselves and explore things in a way that you never thought of. Some children learn faster when they have to figure it out themselves. My daughter loves to look at books and we’ve been trying to teach her to read. I found she picks up on things faster when you make it a game.

  6. My son not yet 3 but way beyond his age! I would love to win this since we were going to be getting him one for christmas anyways! this will save us some money that we can put towards other books for the system to give him even more! thanks Danielle and Leapfrog!

  7. independent learning is critical for independence! and emotional securit too….

  8. i think it is important for emotional develpment.

  9. My son will be one of the youngest in his kinder class too! But he is already reading and this will be perfect for him! Independent learning is important bc many times the teacher or parents are not able to sit with the kids, so they have to be able to be involved on their own.

  10. My son just started preschool, and I would love to try this system out!

  11. Independent reading is so important for their educational growth. My little guy is just 4, he has been memorizing his books since he was 1. Read it once and he has it memorized! Lately he has been memorizing what letters look like, I’m so excited, I really want him to learn to read!!

  12. Independent learning teaches kids to be self-reliant and helps them learn better in general without help.

  13. Allows my son to be more independent
