Is It November 6th Yet?
I cannot tell you how happy I will be when the entire election season is over. Seriously! I am sure you feel the same way, especially if you have people withopposing views in your Facebook news feed.
I am about one step away from going bat-shit-crazy because of the disgusting level of bullshit this election has brought out. The backhanded racism, blatant lies and of course the name calling when people don’t agree with what you have to say.
But what I find to be thee absolute worst of all? Political ads on television. You just can’t get away from them. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!
I can’t watch the news without seeing at least 5 Linda McMahon ads, even if I didn’t hate her WWE background, I wouldn’t vote for her because she is just flat out fucking annoying. And her challenger, Chris Murphy is just a cry baby. They all remind me of the toddler room at my son’s pre-school during nap time. Everyone is crying and no one wants to take the nap they so desperately need.
Want to watch Dancing with the Stars? I gotta watch it an hour late to fast forward through the commercials. Want to sit through my Sunday night ABC television? Mute the TV during commercials.
The icing on the cake is the bully factor. These ads are teaching our children who are actually paying attention, that bullying ones opponent in something (whether it is an election, or debate) is acceptable. Which we all know bullying, at all, even in an election… is never acceptable.
The modern day politicians are just sending the wrong message. Bring back the JFK days. Where debate moderators were respected, and bullying behavior wasn’t encouraged.
My last issue to throw into my bitch session?
The money. It was reported sometime this past week that the Connecticut candidate Linda McMahon had spent $78 Million dollars on her campaign thus far. Now, I know this is a huge number, and it doesn’t touch what the Presidential candidates are throwing around either. BUT… And this is a BIG BUT! I like big butts and I cannot lie….
No seriously. If we took all the money these candidates are draining into the toilet of publicity and used it towards the debt our country is in (and I am not talking one campaign, I am taking all of them, all over the country.) Don’t you think our country would be in far better shape than it is today?
I mean, $78 million compared to $16,201,488,061, 369 (at 9:43am on October 24th) is pennies, but it is something. When a person is in debt even $20 will matter towards what they have to pay off. Something is something.
The whole process is just wasteful and has officially annoyed me this year.
I will try to keep politics off my blog till after the election. And the keyword in that sentence right there is try.
What do you think about this election?

Do you follow Robert Reich? He is an economist big on campaign finance reform and clarity of where the money comes from. I have a little bit of a crush on him if I’m being honest. You can find him on Facebook.
No, but I am certainly going to check him out! Thanks Jennifer!
