Cloth Diapering Made Simple – Real Diaper Week 2012

Photobucket
I’ve been cloth diapering exclusively for a couple months now, and by exclusively I mean all the time even though I started cloth diapering in the summer of 2010. I decided to jump in and participating in The Eco Chic’s Real Diaper Week Blog Hop this year because in the past couple months I have not only blogged more about cloth diapers but I found a lot of new readers here who are also cloth diapering moms!

While I won’t be participating in every prompt for the week because I am still so new, I am going to add in my two cents where I can – starting with today. The prompt for April 16th is Cloth Diapering 101 or simple outreach.

So far I have able to convince two of my friends in real life who are pregnant or recently have had babies to use cloth diapers simply by demonstrating the ease of pocket diapers. My number one pick for cloth diapering.

My picks when it comes to cloth diapers are:

They all have their pro’s and con’s but overall I have found them to be the easiest diapers to use. Simple and I have never had a leak with any.

Pocket diapers are so extremely simple to use. Really anyone that can change a disposable diaper can change a pocket diaper with ease. I found this awesome video on Youtube presented by The Cloth Diaper Whisperer as well as Diapershops.com two great resources.

Simple enough right?
I promise it is, which is how I have been able to get my husband on board with cloth diapering. It is hard enough to get him to change a diaper some days, but throwing cloth into the mix could have been a disaster.

When it comes to buying diapers I suggest the retailers below because they always have some kind of coupon or sale going on that makes building you diaper stash easier.  Let’s all be honest, unless you are buying nothing but Alva Baby diapers, you are going to be spending a pretty penny!

Also keep an eye out on Facebook!  Follow my facebook fan page, I am always hawking sales and coupon codes. Plus I give cloth diapers away all the damn time!

Over the summer I am going to be hosting Project Convert 2 Cloth which will also include a large cloth diaper giveaway. It will be worth sticking around for!

Be sure to check out all the other bloggers participating in Real Diaper Week 2012!
